Unit 3 – Different types of user and user feedback
Types of Users
If you have completed an app that sells your maker creations, think about how you could include other makers’ products into your app. You could start small and manually list all the products, with the name of each maker in the database alongside. If you want to make this more automated, you can create a different type of user login that allows makers to upload their own product photos, descriptions and prices.
You could create a user agreement for the percentage of each sale that goes to you, as the app developer, and how much goes to the maker. Remember that you will have to compete with other marketplace apps, so make sure to explain why your app is a good option for makers.
Feedback
You should decide how you want to get feedback from the users of your app. You can develop a feedback screen where users can fill out a form to submit their thoughts. This means that they can be honest about the things they like and don’t like, and you can find ways to learn what percentage of users liked or didn’t like something. When you first publish your app, you should also consider adding a way for users to tell you about any errors they find, also called bug reports.

It is common for users to request new features from an app. As you start to get this feedback, you will have to decide which features are the most important. You can plan to implement user requests depending on the amount of requests you get, as well as how important you and your testers or team think it is.

When you get to this stage of app development, you will most likely be looking to bring on new team members to help develop the app, advertise it to new customers and expand the features. This is a really exciting time and you will be full of ideas for the future of your app. Remember to take time to make clear decisions, and to get as many family and friends to help with your decisions.
