Course 3
Creating your own projects with AI

Unit 3 – Advertising with AI

Lesson 1:  Using an AI copy generator

Writing “copy” means creating the text for an advertisement. This could be anything from your own post on an auction site for something you are selling, to a paragraph below a video for an expensive new product made by a team of professionals.

Getting noticed by people you don’t know is a difficult thing to do, so copy writing and editing has become a very skilled and complex process. This is especially true for online advertising where advertising is very competitive.

There are some AI copy editing tools that can help you write your own copy, and they are also fun to use even if you’re not selling anything.

INTERACTIVE

  • Try using an AI program to write an advert for a made up product from the list below. Or you can use your own idea.

  • Aim to make the advert 4-5 sentences long, and make sure to make it sound great.

A new wearable tech to be worn while exercising that monitors your mood, to help you stay in a better mood while on a workout.

A new range of clothing that responds to the temperature around the wearer, making sure they stay at a comfortable temperature.

A stylish phone holder for pets, to get an animal’s point of view of your world.

  • Try coming up with a few sentences first…

  • Then go to https://rytr.me/ and create an account.

  • Choose the “Product Description” option under Use Case, then choose the tone you want for your description.

  • Choose a product name, and write a simple description of your product, then click “Ryte for me”

  • Try a few different tones, and edit the description, until you get copy you are happy with.

  • Compare your copy with other people in the room to get an idea of the copy that is possible from this AI program.

If you have time, have a look at the other Use Cases on the Rytr site and try them out for yourself.
